| Bio: |  Professional, 40-something author who moonlights in fanfic -- also mother, historian, college professor, former hospice counselor, NDN, and maker of a mean frybread. I tend to be "serially monogamous" in my fandoms, so X-Men (both movie- and comicverse) was my fascination for almost 6 years. My current fascination, however, seems to be Harry Potter, specifically Cedric Diggory, and that's where I'm writing these days. I like my pretty Hero Boys (Cyclops, Cedric ...) My website above leads to my site splash page, where you can pick your poison: Harry Potter or X-Men. I'm probably best known for novel-length works. Finding Himself and the Aorist Subjunctive series are my most recent novel-length pieces and belong to Harry Potter. In X-Men, my novels included Grail: a novel of resurrection, Special: the Genesis of Cyclops, Climb the Wind, An Accidental Interception of Fate, and the Lightning Over Elk River Saga. The banner above reflects the trio at the heart of Grail: Warren (Angel), Jean (Phoenix) and [an unvisored] Scott (Cyclops), and was made by Stef Galvin. The banner below is by Puguita, and reflects my (relatively) new fandom, Harry Potter (the manipulation of Cedric and Hermione in the banner was done by Elven Mysteries, used with her permission). This journal mostly concerns reports of stories in progress, discussion of writing itself, of particular stories, of HP or X-Men fandom, and/or of fanfiction generally. I tend not to talk a whole lot about my personal life (which is really rather boring).  Memories: I don't utilize the "memories" function, except for History Meta (all available here). Instead, on my website, I keep a List of Notable Diary Entries about writing, fandom, etc. This allows me to annotate entry listings, making it easier for folks to know if that entry might interest them. My 'policy' on friending (such as it is): I'm flattered if you choose to add me, no need to ask permission. I may or may not add you back. I tend not to add people who talk a lot about their private lives unless I've actually met them in person, and/or have a long-standing email correspondence. It's not because you're boring; it's because I don't "know" you. I likewise assume that people who don't know me have no interest in my private life, either. :-) I also don't tend to friend those who post mostly quizzes (especially if not behind cut-tags). I do sometimes friend folks (or keep them friended) who post interesting links and/or discussions, even if we've long since gone our different fandom ways. If you do friend me, but later decide I'm not as interesting as you first thought, I won't have my feelings hurt if you take me off. It's all a matter of what piques our curiosity, and how much time we have. On getting to new Chapters/Stories: I know that some of you have trouble accessing The Medicine Wheel at work for new chapters/stories, as it's blocked as an adult site. I don't want to delete the warnings; I'm happy to have it flagged for filtering programs to protect kids. But for those of you old enough to read but can't, and who can't wait till you get home (g) -- or don't have computer access at home -- I offer you: The Google Solution This solution won't work for everyone, apparently; it depends on the sophistication of the filtering software. | |||||||||
